Last week Liberty wrote to him pointing out that, as the burqa and niqab are a form of dress exclusively associated with Muslim women, this will amount to direct religious discrimination. By treating Muslim women less favourably than he would treat people of other religions he is disregarding the Equality Act 2006.”
