‘On 5 February 2026 the Premier League (“PL”) and the English Football League (“EFL”) announced that a PL Commission had sanctioned Leicester City FC with an immediate six-point deduction for breach of the EFL PSR Upper Loss Threshold. This article explains the PL Commission’s approach to sanction and considers whether there has been any development to the approach to sanction in such cases.’
